CQU’s MBA (Leadership) is an innovative and 100 per cent online MBA designed to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead diverse organisations into the future. Streamlined and ultra-flexible, you will benefit from quality course content and an advanced learning experience.
Your studies will focus on essential business functions relevant to business analysis and strategy, such as accounting, finance, law, economics, marketing, human resources, operations, and research methods. All core areas are supplemented with a focus on leadership in a contemporary business environment. Through this course, you will develop your capacity to resolve problems, create innovative solutions and generate entrepreneurial business.
The Master of Business Administration (Leadership) is comprised of 11 units: 10 standard and one Capstone.
Each standard unit is designed to take 144 hours to complete, which equates to 12–18 months of full-time study for the full course. However, you will have up to five years from enrolment to complete the course at your own pace.
To help you with the order in which to complete your units, the course has been split into three phases, outlined below, each consisting of units worth 24 credit points. While there is flexibility in the course structure, you are strongly encouraged to fully complete each phase before moving to the next, as these phases have been designed to allow for early exit awards of a Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma.

The assessments that you will be required to complete range from evaluative self-practice, online tests, case study reviews, reports, and business simulations. While there are no due dates for assessment items, course and unit study guides are available to provide suggestions and direction for effective study and goal management.

The Central Queensland University MBA (Leadership) is delivered entirely online, and you can choose to study full time or part time, as long as you complete your studies within five years. You are not bound by traditional university term dates, and you can submit your assessments at any time over the duration of the course.
Each standard unit is designed to take 144 hours to complete, which equates to 12–18 months of full-time study for the full course. Choose to spread your studies out evenly with 6–10 hours per week, do larger sections all at once on weekends or holidays, or anywhere in between – it is entirely up to you.
The course is open for applications all year round so you can start your studies any time.
The MBA (Leadership) is open to anyone with a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent. Candidates must also meet a minimum English language requirement equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in each band.

If you do not hold a recognised undergraduate degree, you may be eligible for entry to the Master of Business Administration (Leadership) if you can demonstrate one of the following, as well as the minimum English language requirement listed above:
- Completion of grade 12 with five years related working experience*.
- Completion of a diploma in any field with two years related working experience*.
*You will be required to provide a reference letter from your employer.
If you do not meet the language requirement CQU provides online English language courses to assist students prior to entry into the MBA (Leadership).
